High in the Lombardy Alps, in a charming valley at an altitude of 1,816 m above sea level, lies a picturesque town called the "Little Tibet" of Europe. It is a true paradise for skiing enthusiasts - 115 km of snow-covered slopes with breathtaking views attract winter fans from all over Europe and even further afield. Poles, Czechs and Germans are particularly fond of this town. In the winter season, nearly 200,000 of our compatriots come to Livigno for skiing. What attracts them to this place? Modern infrastructure and long slopes, a large number of ski schools with Polish-speaking instructors, a duty-free zone, or maybe other attractions and the Italian "dolce vita"? It is worth knowing that this year there is a unique offer - from December 2 to 22, ski passes are free for all guests of Livigno.
The location of Livigno creates ideal conditions for skiing. Beautiful scenery and kilometers of ski slopes supported by modern infrastructure are undoubtedly one of the strongest assets of this place. 115 km of ski slopes stretch at an altitude of almost 3,000 m above sea level, and many of them start in the heart of the town, near hotels and apartments. Everyone will find the right one for themselves among the 74 slopes of varying difficulty located in the surrounding valleys. They are connected by 6 gondola lifts (Carosello 3000 I and II, Mottolino, Livigno Centro Tagliede I and II, Cassana), 14 chairlifts and 11 plate lifts. Thanks to two free shuttle lines of the Skilink service, skiers can move from the Carosello slope to the Mottolino slope in a few minutes.
For beginners, there are 150 instructors trained by the Italian Ski School. They train children, teenagers and adults who are just starting their skiing adventure. Their services are also used by people who would like to improve their skiing technique or try freeriding off the beaten track. Instructors speak several languages, including Polish, which makes communication much easier. Families with children are happy to use the schools operating in Livigno throughout the winter season.
SNOW PARKS, FREERIDE AND HELISKIING
For lovers of greater excitement and adrenaline seekers, Livigno offers a range of unique attractions. Snowparks such as: Mottolino Snowpark, The Beach or Amerikan Snowpark, attract both professionals and those who are just starting their adventure with freestyle. There are also designated areas for the youngest skiers, thanks to which they can practice their skills, first jumps and ski tricks. Livigno is also famous for its freeride areas, where lovers of speed and off-the-beaten-track descents will experience more extreme experiences alone with nature. The cherry on the cake is heliskiing, or a helicopter flight to the highest points of the Alps and skiing down untouched snowy slopes. Thanks to such prepared infrastructure and excellent conditions, Livigno became the host of snowboarding and freestyle skiing competitions during the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics.
ATTRACTIONS ON THE SLOPES, OR THE ITALIAN LIFESTYLE
Italians are known for their love of fun, hospitality, smiles and optimism. That is why they understand like no other that after a day spent on the slopes, everyone deserves a little pleasure. The first Apres Ski events start at around 5 p.m., where adult skiers can enjoy music, Aperol or the popular Bombardino cocktail and eat real Italian pizza. It is also easy to find special events, such as Powder Days, or celebrating days with heavy snowfall. For those who want to see the slopes of Livigno in a slightly different way, there is a Sunrise Emotion & Luxury Breakfast and Sunset Emotion, or a ride in snow groomers at sunrise and sunset, which will remain in your memory for a long time.
